UNTHA UK has announced four new appointments as part of its ongoing expansion. The appointments are complemented by a six-figure investment in UNTHA UK’s ERP platform and wider IT estate.

Commenting on the recruitments, Marcus Brew, UNTHA UK’s managing director said: “These strategic appointments mark a significant milestone in our period of continued growth and reflect our commitment to further expanding our capabilities and strengthening our team.”

The new additions to the sales team include consultants Dale Liptrot and Rich Wakeley.

Dale brings over a decade of experience, including selling capital equipment at CLP UK. With his expertise, Dale will identify potential clients, nurture long-term partnerships, and enhance the overall sales strategy for the industrial shredder suppliers.

Fellow sales consultant Rich has over 12 years of corporate sales experience, with a background in the construction, powered access, manufacturing, logistics, and plant hire industries. Rich will handle maintaining customer excellence through new business enquiries and sustaining existing partnerships.

Alice Kelly has been appointed as marketing and content manager after having worked with the firm as a supplier for over 4 years. Alice has PR and marketing experience across a number of technical industries, and will be responsible for developing and delivering multi-channel communication strategies with a wide range of company partners.

In addition, Mark Sandercock joins as a service engineer. Mark is an experienced mechanical fitter and service engineer with a background in maintaining heavy plant machinery including balers, compactors, crushers, screeners, and other processing plants. He will provide service, repair, and installation support across UNTHA UK’s product range and offer advice to customers on maintaining their equipment.

Marcus Brew added: “We are thrilled to welcome Dale, Rich, Alice, and Mark to UNTHA UK. Their diverse expertise and proven track records will be instrumental in driving our future success. As we continue to innovate and expand, their contributions will ensure we maintain our position as industry leaders. We are very excited about the opportunities ahead.”

How will the government and DMOs address the challenges of including glass in DRS while ensuring a level playing field across the UK?

There's no easy solution to include glass in the DRS while maintaining a level playing field. Potential approaches include a phased introduction of glass, potentially with higher deposits to reflect its logistical challenges. The government and DMOs could incentivise innovation in glass packaging design and subsidise dedicated return points for glass-handling. Exemptions for smaller businesses unable to handle glass might also be necessary. Any successful solution will likely blend several approaches. It must address the differing priorities of devolved administrations, balance environmental benefits with logistical and cost implications, and be supported by robust consumer education campaigns emphasizing the importance of glass recycling.
