The Egbert Taylor Group, which owns bin manufacturer Taylor and skip producer Sellers, has announced a strategic partnership with cloud-connected, solar-powered waste and recycling system creator Bigbelly Inc.
As part of the partnership, the UK-based Bigbelly sales and operations teams will transfer across to the Egbert Taylor Group, which the latter states will ‘drive growth for both brands’ in the UK waste industry.
Bigbelly’s ‘smart waste and recycling system’ claims to be the ‘world’s most hi-tech bin’. Its collection stations gather and analyse waste data, while providing real-time fleet statuses, alerts and reports to assist operations. The company claims that compaction technology included in the stations means they can capture eight times more waste than traditional bins.
Partnership seeks to provide customers with ‘wide-reaching solutions’
Announcing the partnership, Brendan Murphy, CEO of the Egbert Taylor Group, commented: “In today’s market, strategic partnerships represent an essential route to growth and development. Through our partnership with Bigbelly, we are combining tradition and heritage with technology in order to provide customers with a comprehensive, innovative and wide-reaching solutions portfolio.”

Taylored Solutions
This new strategic partnership is part of Egebert Taylor’s 2016 UK growth plan, which has already seen Taylor bins launch its ‘Taylored Solutions’ programme. The programme sees the company take a circular approach to its operations, including new refurbishment and trade-in services and a voucher scheme offering discounts and loyalty rewards to customers.
